All about work and Inside Man

10 April 06
Worked at Box Office today! Right at the start of my work, met a weird auntie. She asked me a lot of questions on the movie, Ice Age 2 then decided to watch Inside Man. Well, I gave her a seat for Inside Man and re-confirmed everything with her then printed out the ticket but just when I printed out the ticket, she suddenly asked me if it is ok to change to another movie. AHHH!! What the hell! So i told her "Sorry! I think that is not quite possible cos I have to help you sell this ticket first..." She didn't finish listening to what I have to say, she left after say "I am calling your boss!" Her behaviour reminds me of myself when I was young, I would always threaten my sister when she bully me, crying out "I tell mummy!" Seriously, the auntie's behaviour is really childish!
XY came to find me today. She came down to J8 to collect her chatlet money and conveniently came up to find me! Chat with her for a long while cos there wasn't any customer.
GV recruited a group of part and full timers and today was their first day. I was the trainer of one of them. Can you believe it? ME? The absent-minded sotong! It was actually out of desperation, the manager put me as the trainer cos my working time clashed with the full-timer.

11 April 06
Watched Inside Man in the morning with some of my colleagues. Inside Man is highly recommended by me! The movie is touching, exciting and funny all rolled into one! The only flaw of the movie is the censoring of the vulgarities. Actually I don't find the point in censoring the vulgarities since it is very obvious what the vulgarities are. One of the most obvious is the word "Asshole" in one of the scenes. Anybody who knows the word and who are not blind will be able to tell that the actor is saying the 'A' word. Well, I think the plot is good though so I will still recommend it!
After the movie, me and Serena went shopping for a while cos both of us start work later. Then we went with Andy to ta pao food for everyone and while on the way, all 3 of us started to bitch about our secondary school teachers cos all 3 of us came from the same sec sch and it so happened that their age differ from mine by 1 year, one younger than me and the other is older! It's a small world after all!

Sentosa and Frog Leg Porridge

Registered for my GEMS and guess what did i took up? Love, sex and politics! It wasn't my first priority actually but since i have zar and ali's company and one of my fav. lecturers is teaching the module, i have no complaints!
Then i quickly rushed out to meet my GV colleagues at Sentosa. Well, am late AGAIN for about 20 mins, supposed to meet at 9.30am but reached at about 9.50am! Thankfully met xian jie on my way up the harbourfront escalator, ha she is also late! We all ate at McDonald's before we set out to bask under the sun!
Our first stop was the Siloso Beach! During the bus ride to Siloso, the two sisters, Christina and Serena kept bullying me and Deb. AHHH!!! The C and S sisters are my nightmare, from now on i shall call them CS, Counter Strike! Anyway when we reached Siloso Beach, it was all about getting TANNED, having FUN and getting TANNED! We played volleyball for awhile and since i took up volleyball before, i proudly announced to eveyone and i realised that it was a wrong choice, cos i picked up the ball more than i hit it, and i made a total fool out of myself! Oh well, the moral of the story, don't talk big when you only get a certificate of participation! Then everyone got kind of restless with volleyball and decided to go for a swim. Since i and xian jie both did not bring extra clothing, we volunteered to look after their belongings! Awhile later, all of them returned from their swim and we sat down and ate fruits, brownies, dried fish fillet (they called it 'cao'-grass) and melted (literally) chocolate. The food gave us energy and with the energy, we played Monkey using the volleyball until it started to drizzle at about 4.30pm. That is when we decided to stop playing and moved on to our next stop which is Underwater World. Underwater World i must say is really not worth the money cos there isn't much things to look at, yet it costs us $22. However you can really learn a lot about marine life in there! After travelling on the belt and going round and round 3 times (trying to make our money worth, you see), we decided to leave Underwater World for the Musical Fountain. I had to leave at this point cos i had to meet up with my frens at AMK and Jason, having to meet his frens, went off with me.
When i reached AMK, it was already 7.55pm. My frens were all dying from hunger for waiting so long. Took them to a frog leg porridge stall and have our dinner. The uncle from the frog leg stall cheated our money cos we saw more dried chilli than frog leg meat in the pot %#$@& but we got ourselves a free dish which is omelette egg cos Hui know one of the aunties in the stall! Well i guess we gain some and we lose some! After our dinner, we sat down at a coffeeshop and discussed our next meeting. Don't know why but i felt so happy sitting there, with my sec frens talking and laughing...there is just this special bond among all of us that had kept us all together and i have a feeling it will be forever!

WWW and EVE

Went to Escape on Saturday because Wai Shin got a coupon which allows entry with a low payment of $4 each! YAY!

Once we got there, regret is written all over my face because there were so many people queuing up for every game! Argh...

Our first station was the pirate ship cos we wanted to play something less thrilling first and to enjoy the wind a little. It was quite a scary ride for me because whenever the ship swung down on my side, I felt that I was going to drop out of the ship...hmm time for me to gain weight! Then we went to the haunted house, supposedly we went in to enjoy the air-con but I think we sweated like pigs when we came out. It was scary for me because I couldn't see properly in the dark (this is the point where I started to miss eating carrot!) and I was afraid because one of the rules on the signboard says 'Please do not touch any ghost people' or something to that extent which I interpreted as that some real life human might jumped out of nowhere to scare us (which didn't happened, thankfully). The third station that we queued up for was 'Flipper', what I call the cupcake game cos the seats are shaped like cupcakes. I chickened out half-way while queuing cos it looks really scary when you are standing beside the machine, listenig to the piercing screams and looking at the faces of all the previous riders. But in the end, 'peer pressure' won me over! Just when it was our turn, it started to rain YAY..erm I mean Darn! So in the end, because of the stupid weather, we only managed to play 2 stations!

Well took some photos though...erm outside WWW cos we forgot to take photos at Escape...so silly right?

Ali, having nothing better to do, played with my sis's camera!

Tuesday 28 march

Got to meet our big boss, let's call her E, who came down to do a spot check on our cleanliness.

Heard a lot about her, about how strict, fierce, picky and scary she is but I was lucky enough not to have met her during my entire 1 year and 3 months in GV until yesterday! Ann told me that if E spotted one area that is not clean, she will take a cloth and wipe, then shove the cloth in front of your face and ask 'This is what you call clean?' so I put in great effort to ensure that everything is really clean!

We were told that E will come down to check, on one of the days AFTER when we have finished cleaning. They certainly didn't tell us that E will have a sudden spot check so when E came yesterday, we were not quite prepared for that although we did spring cleaning on mon and tues, we are not quite done yet!

When I first saw her, my first impression was 'Cocky' cos she don have a single smile on her face and she don regard any of the staff as human, we are merely insignficant statues to her. On top of that, she did not even appreciate the work that I have spent the whole afternoon doing which is cleaning the cabinets in and out. FINE! How I wish I will not get to see her again but I think that is difficult cos she will be back next week AGAIN! (she really have nothing better to do)

Shirley

Got back my results yesterday. Was quite shocked with my Ad Management grade because i didn't expect to get a B for that, considering i studied only 4 days before the paper..hmm...i think it must be the moderation. Overall i must say i am happy with my results cos it is easier to smile than frown!
Went to subway to have dinner with my primary school clinques yesterday! Hmm..my friend made a fool of herself when making her bread choice cos she said she want italian wheat but italian and wheat are 2 different bread choice..oops (actually it was my fault because i was the one who listed out the bread selection for her) and the staff wasn't really very helpful cos he shot back 'italian and wheat are 2 different bread!' loudly some more
Then we sat down to have our dinner and gossiped about some of our pri schoolmates. That was when i found out that one of our pri schoolmates have gotten married *Grasp* I have heard of many girls who get married at a young age but i never imagined that one of them would be someone i know!

Issues on Pregnancy

Recently read a book. It is really funny the way the author expressed some situations that he had encountered and most of what he pointed out are very true.
One of the situations that he encountered was giving up seats to pregnant women. Have you ever encountered such a situation where a woman who have THE BULGE OF UNCERTAINTY under her dress is standing in front of you, and you are in a dilemma, cos you don't know which is worst, denying a seat to a pregnant woman or offering a seat to a woman who wasn't pregnant but just looked as if she was?
The author met with such a situation and he decided to offered his seat to the look-like-pregnant lady...
" Sorry. Would you like to sit down?" the author said, getting up.
" Why would I want to sit down?" the lady said aggressively.
Shit. "Erm...Well..you just looked a bit tired...um, and I am getting off at the next stop anyway" the author lied.
While I was reading this part, I couldn't help but nod my head in agreement. Just the other day, I was discussing with shin about this.
Come to think of it, I would most likely remain seated and pretend to read a book (if I have one) or sleep...NAH, I believe in the phrase 'What comes around, goes around' so thinking of my future, I should give up my seat even if it means bringing embarrassment to myself!

Watched Date Movie with Jen yesterday. I feel that movie is stupidly funny because most of their actions are just plain silly in a funny way. Personally, I would not pay for this kind of movie but I don't mind going in for a good laugh without having to pay!

Movies

Wahhh...so long never blog already!!! Actually wanted to close down my blog but thought better of it.
Been working lately so i got to watch a lot of movie endings and i must say all the movies for this week is either violent or horrifying! Wolf Creek for one is a really REALLY SCARY or rather BLOODY movie to watch alone...i walked out after watching 5 minutes of the last 15 minutes of the movie and can you believe it is a true story!!! This story really happened in some part of Australia and to think i like Australia so much...ok i still like Australia.
Final destination 3 and Underworld are also two bloody movies, that's all i can say cos i didn't watch the whole movie so i shall not comment much!

Marina Square

Went to Marina Square yesterday to watch Deuce Bigalow. Another of those pornish (if there is such a word) movie. The first scene being showed is a guy's butt, big screen, full view some more...So anyway nothing much to say about the movie except that the movie is not for me!
Before we went to watch the movie, we went to play pool. Ali played the game practically by himself because both Zar and i are lousy at the game, so he guided us through the whole game, telling us where to shoot, how to angle and stuff like that. He can make a good pool teacher because he was quite patient with both of us!
There are quite a few bridal shop in marina square and the gowns being displayed are lovely. Zar and i couldn't take our eyes off the mannequi, the shopkeepers thought we are interested in buying so he came out from the shop and invited us in. Actually he was looking at Ali and Zar (thinking that both of them are a couple). Of course we didn't go in cos we are not buying but I personally wouldn't mind going in to try on the gowns and not buy it cos they are so beautiful!
