My Birthday!!!

My advice to all who wanna read this post: make sure you have lots of time to spare cos it is a super long post. So many people to thank..

This year, my presents are really unique and erm....cutesy. Had quite a few shocks cos I did not expect some people to give me presents yet they did *blush*.

First up, my bunch of gal frens!!! Ee Fun, Huihui, Yingying and Yingting. Thanks gal for bringing me to Ms Clarity Cafe for dinner and brought me ice-cream and all. Had a great time opening presents too.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting From Fang, it s foldable keyboard and a namecard holder and both are in BLUE!!! Seriously, now what I really wanna know is 'When am I going to have my own namecard?'. I have like 3 namecard holders and yet I don't have any namecards to give out (stupid company policy of having 6 months probation).

Ok, anyway took this photo to show you how foldable this foldable keyboard is
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
You can even fold and keep it in you bag. That, is what i call portable keyboard.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
T-shirt from Ting. Can't see the words from the photo but 'Big Brain Little Soul' are printed on the shirt. Really cute shirt.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
From Huihui. A mixture of things...there are a pair of earring, handphone holder shaped like a cute toufu and a card. Find the toufu really cute, don't you think?

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Ying gave me a handmade card and seashell photo frame, cos she knows that I love beaches a lot and since I can't go to the beach everyday, I can look at the photo frame and pretend to be at a beach.

My boy gave me something really interesting. He called it a TOP SECRET project which really contradicts cos on the day he picked me up from work, he was holding a really big plastic bag and the corner of the "project" is like threatening to pop out. It is kinda like inviting everyone to pay attention to it yet he wants to like hide it. Super lame. Anyway he gave me this
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Guess what? It's not only a photo of me and him, it's a jigsaw puzzle
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Sweet.

Second bunch of people I have to thank are my colleagues!!! This really came as a surprise for me cos I did not expect so many of my colleagues from my current company to know about my birthday, needless to say receiving presents from them, but I guess news really travel fast through Skype and word-of-mouth. I got so many cutesy things from them which I, as a 20 year old is ashamed to show everyone. Anyway I took some photos,
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting 2 pair of earrings from my colleague, Cindy.

A brown top from Janet and Michael which really fits me (I can't seem to flash the photo but it is a really nice top).

I also received a lot of Hello Kitty, Minnie Mouse, Doremon stuff from my colleagues. Seriously, I think it is a sign. Still, I am really glad they bothered to celebrate my birthday with me so I really thank them for the love. Thanks Christina and Katherine.

Lastly, there are a bunch of my friends I would like to thank and they are my sisterhood gang, my sworn sister and my royal family gang from Golden Village. My sisterhood gang, Waishin, Zarifah, Josh, Poh and Ali, really thank you all for remembering my birthday and sending me birthday wishes. My sworn sister, Jennifer, thanks for remembering my birthday too. Can't find an appropriate time to meet with her, something that I am guilty of. My royal family gang, Siang, Agu, Xian, Jaslin, Kelvin and The KING, thank you for dropping messages and wishes for me (I, as the maid of the family feel really honoured especially even King also wish me well!) Not forgetting, Guijing, Shin Fen and Chee Hao for dropping me a message. Thank you all.

Although my family didn't give me a celebration, they did remember my birthday (except my father who still dare to ask me why I received so many presents all of a sudden -_-", but he feels guilty about it so I shall not blame him). My mum and sis will be buying me formal tops (something I really need now) tomorrow so I am going shopping...YOOHOO!

I feel so blessed to have everyone in my life. I LOVE YOU ALL! Thanks for making my every birthday a happy one.

Kelong Trip

WOOHOO...went to stay in a kelong in Bintan with my sister and her friends recently, and it was really a super leisure trip. All we need to prepare for the trip was to make a phone call and pack our bag, that's all. All we had to pay was $150 and everything like tax, accomodation, food and travel fee were looked into. Now I know what travel easy means, ha!

We took a ferry from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal to the ferry terminal at Bintan which took about 2 hours. Then from Bintan we had a chauffeur who drove us to our destination, I feel like a queen! Anyway the trip took about 30 minutes. So you can imagine, only 2.5 hours and I am in another country!

When we reached, we had our first meal there. And just take a look at the spread!
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
We had crabs, fish, soup, kang kong, a snail shell thingy that taste like sotong!!! For $150 you get fed with these kind of food everyday, where to find?

It was drizzling when we reached Kelong so you can imagine how disappointed I was to have my suntanning plan crushed. Thank goodness there were lots of indoor entertainment around like billiard, KTV and mahjong. So, we challenged one another to a round of billiard.
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

After the drizzle, we were looking for some excitement so we went island hopping! YEAH! While waiting for the host to get ready the speed boat, we had to entertain ourselves so we camera-whore

I seriously don't know why I am smiling till my eyes are unseen but I really enjoyed the feeling of riding a speed boat.

After dinner, we went to their KTV. Not as bad as I expected. At least they still have songs by Stefanie Sun, Sammi Cheng, Mariah Carey and 500 (Wu Bai). We also played mahjong
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Really tai tai life man.

The next morning, the sun was finally out!!! So without brushing my teeth, getting rid of my eye shit, I did the most rational thing...defy the wind and sit on those dangerously put together wooden planks to soak in the morning sun.

My sister and I tried their banana boat ride.

Me walking towards the banana boat. I was in fear but still had time to arrange my hair.

Life is really simple at Kelong. We bath using rainwater which is collected using large tank at different water catchment area. We ate fishes and crabs that the host catches from the sea. We slept without air-con or fan but natural wind. It has been a really good experience and if possible, I will want to return to the place again.

I AM SO HAPPY!!!!

OH MY GOODNESS! It's been YEARS since I last blogged and to remind me of this fact, I actually forgot my username and password, like seriously.

Anyway, wanted to blog about something happy that happened yesterday. I got a real surprise from my boy last night. I was feeling really sick yesterday. First, it was a slight headache then i started to feel cold for no good reason, and all this I suspect was because of the lack of sleep for the past few nights. So, I called my boy and explained to him that I can't chat till very late cos blah blah blah

and guess what?

He bought me
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Kodomo! For fever relief. I was not really feeling very feverish but still, it was kind of him to have thought of doing something to relief my sickness. Actually he doesn't know whether it is effective or not, it was just conveniently available so he bought it -_-"

Then, I found another big item in the bag. POLAR PUFFS AND CAKES. Reminds me of WS!
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Anyway, he bought the cake for our 2nd Month Anniversary. I hate to act like a school gal, talking about how sweet my boyfriend is but seriously, I was touched. I really thought there will not be any celebration for our 2nd month anniversary because he was too busy to pick me up after work that day and I was too sick to meet him up that night. So when he called me to open the door and see what is outside an hour after we hung up, I was really dead shocked. I think FedEx will really appreciate this kind of employees, ha! Anyway it really came as a pleasant surprise for me.

Although my boy gets me upset sometimes, he can be really sweet, and I mean REALLY SWEET

With my lovely bunch of gal friends

It is really nice to have a camera that will capture every few moments because in the end, the photos will turn out to be funny.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
10 seconds to go. Better get ready and put on my most adorable smile, to be on the safe side.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Ok, the 10 seconds is really long. I feel like laughing for smiling like an idiot for so long.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
I can't control my laughter anymore.

Movie Blockbuster Month!

It's the time of the month yet again, where we get one great movie after another. For the month of May, there are Spiderman 3 and Pirates of the Caribbean to look forward to.

One movie that I recommend:
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Spiderman 3 is really worth the money! The effects are way better than the previous two movies and it is really exciting. Just go catch it!

Two movies that I so wanna catch will be out soon!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
SHREK 3!!! (Top on my list) It will only be out on 31 May though

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN!!! Out on 24 May!

With so many movies coming our way, it would mean two things:
1) More entertainment choice!
2) I am going to suffer during my weekends cos Golden Village will definitely be packed, arghhh

IslandLife...I love it!

If ever you have a day off from work and have nowhere to go...grab a few great companies, a bottle of sunblock and a sentosa island map and head off to Sentosa. I guarantee you, your day will be well spend!

Yesterday, my friends and I decided to make full use of whatever benefits we can enjoy before we surrender our uniform and staff pass. So, we spent the whole day (well..almost) visiting some of the attractions in Sentosa! We went to Palawan beach first to take in a bit of the scenery and had our lunch there. Since it was around 2.30pm when we finished our lunch, we decided to catch the 3.30pm birds encounter show which is free! Having 1 hour to kill, we then aimlessly took the Siloso beach tram to tour around Siloso.

The birds encounter show was...typical...the tricks were the same throughout all these years so I was not really impressed by it. I was amazed by one of the tricks though. The bird could produce a cough sound (to show that it is not feeling well) and say 'hello' and 'bye'. One of the highlights of the show would be the photo-taking session at the end. We were allowed to take photos with the birds, which was fun. Although the bird's claws were kinda of sharp and it grips tightly onto your hand, it was still a fun experience. After the show, we went to take the much anticipated luge and sky-ride. 'Once is never enough' tagline for luge is seriously true. It was so fun racing down the tracks with the wind whipping your face. If not for the stupid helmet which was far too big for my head (should take the kids one next time), I would have really enjoyed myself. After that, we went to Images of Singapore to look at all the wax figures and to the Merlion.

Oh...such a fulfilling day!

Manila Photos

Been meaning to post up the photos that I took at Manila but computer broke down a few days after we came back so...

Oohh...lots of photo to share!!! Had such a great time!!! Hmm...few words to summarise the whole trip: Great experience, Great company and Wonderful trip!

Day 1:
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Travelling budget, so took Tiger Airways. It was my first time taking budget airline so did not know what to expect. It is good that we did not expect much cos there really isn't much provided by Tiger (not even mineral water)! Everything have to be paid for and one cup of drink cost like S$3 *shakes head*

The leg space for Tiger is pretty similar to Sahara (the airline I took to India) so it was bearable for me, considering it was only for 3 hours.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Once we got off the plane, we were stranded (for a few minutes) at Clark airport because we did not know how to get to our hotel. How exciting! Thankfully, there were different transport booths set up inside Clark airport lobby for 'lost' tourists (like us) who needs to get to different parts of manila. It took us 2.5 hours to get from Clark to our hotel, Kabanyan. If you have noticed, I did not mention any food throughout our travelling journey...so it was like 6 hours of no food and drinks for us until...

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
FOOD!!!! Our first lunch? dinner? for the day! We abandoned our suitcase and bags and ran out in searched for food. Thankfully, right beside our hotel there was a neighbourhood shopping mall so we were able to quench our thrist and fill our stomach! Guess how much is one plate of that? Less than $2 lah

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Although Agu had a hard time chewing her beef (spot the irony?), still, we had a filling meal. Anyway we were too hungry to care about anything.

We felt too deprived so after not long later, we went to KFC to have our dinner cum supper...
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
One thing we realised is that Fillippinos enjoy eating RICE (I am so suitable for the country). Almost all food outlets include rice in their menu.

Day 2:
We decided to start exploring Manila on our own (of course we did engage a little help from the receptionist at Kabanyan). We told the receptionist that we wanted to go Rizal Park so he suggested taking the LRT service. The LRT service is pretty similar to the one in Singapore. Except that the 'doors closing' warning is not as alarming as ours, probably cos we were still not used to it!
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

We navigated our way and walked towards a direction where we thought would lead us to Rizal Park but...we arrived at Robinsons Shopping Mall instead.
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Oh well....we, being flexible people were really willing to accept the changes that come our way...so we went in to SHOP!!!

Found some interesting shops there...
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
My friends went bonkers when they saw Bee Cheng Hiang in Manila. They were like squealing "They have mei zhen xiang here!! Must take photo!" I mean...ya, we see it a lot here in Singapore but in Manila, it is like rare but I think my friends are like over-reacting a little when they saw it.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Results of having too many retail stores: Lame brand names!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Went to experience their theatre. And look how interesting their tickets are...it looks like those coupons you will win when you play in Timezone (apparently nobody is concern about the model cos the green thing is the main focus...hee)

Day 3:
We, being the adventurous bunch, decided to try taking jeepneys to Mall of Asia (the biggest mall in Asia).

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Jeepneys are like a mini non-aircon bus. Each jeepney will specify the place they will be travelling to (by the side). So once you spot a jeepney that goes to your destination, you will flag and climb on board.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Seriously, we look like miserable immigrants (with modern dressing) being transported to someplace where we dread.

Ok, maybe not, cos we arrived at Mall of Asia
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Yipee!

how now?

My results are out! And Guess What? I can officially give up hope on getting into ntu...yoohoo...yay *shrug* It's for the better, I guess. Now, I can put down my hope of getting into ntu and start looking for a full-time job, earn enough money then apply for sim.

Life is that cruel...your GPA never reach anywhere near the requirement then don't have to attempt to try....ARGH!!! It's back to job search.....or should I still try for ntu....

Manila, Here I COME!!!

A level results are out! Most of them are stressed over their results while I am stressed over having to compete with all of them to get into university. I have a feeling I have to work for a few years first before I get into university to get myself a degree.

Oh well...to a lighter and much happier topic. I am going overseas again! This time to Manila!!! Never thought I will be going to Philippines because it is not one of those widely-advertised,
hot travel locations. Still, I am looking forward to it!!! SO EXCITING!!! I will be flying off on 12 March, monday morning and will be back by 15 March =)

In another weeks time I will be flying off to Manila but our accommodation and activities are still not planned out yet (this is like the most impromptu trip ever, like seriously)! I have no worries though cos I am going with Agu (the ever-efficient planner), Serena (the best-ever photographer..so when we have nothing better to do, the best entertainment will be..TAKE PHOTO!!! MUAHAHA), Siang (the best-ever person to come up with practical solutions) and my sis (the err..best-ever crazy entertainer).

Right now, we already have a hotel in mind and that is kabayan hotel.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Doesn't the room looks comfortable and cozy? *Dreamy* If we are staying there, it will feel so much like home =) Hopefully everthing works out so we can stay there during our 3 nights in Manila.

bore Bore BORE!!

Part of the reason why I keep this blog is cos I can entertain myself (and bore people out there) by typing about my life. Here is another entry where I talk about meaningless things!

Recently, my sis and I watched a play 'Everything but the Brain' at Esplanade. This is the first time I have ever stepped in a theatre in Esplanade (that is also the primary reason why I wanted to watch the play). It was quite an experience cos the theatre studio was well....small BUT I love it cos I got to see the presenters up close! I am quite amazed by the fact that the presenters could use the limited space provided to present a 90 mins play! I must say much of the credit goes to the performers cos they really put on a convincing performance.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Took a photo of both of us setting off to watch the play. Don know why I look so bored?

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Nice decoration at the lobby. Don know whether it is meant for Chinese New Year or Christmas.

Anyway a bit about my life now, in case anyone misses me terribly...

Now I am currently jobless and school-less, at least until next tuesday. I have found myself a part time job at Sentosa, going through training on tuesday. This job will probably stick with me till I get admitted to a university (hopefully NTU *cross fingers*). I have already signed up for NTU's business course. I will be signing up for NUS and SIM's business course as well. Err...that's about all for now....

Annual Dinner

Went for my company's Annual Dinner recently. It was surprisely, fun! I expected it to be boring cos I don't really know many of them. However I enjoyed myself, laughing at my drama colleague and taking part in their 'Guess the song competition'.

Wanted to post a lot of photos but because I am afraid that it is against my company's policy so, decided to scrape the idea. But there is one photo that I must share

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Ok, seriously this is one ugly photo. I look so unglam!!! Can you imagine doing that during a company's annual dinner? And it is all because of the guy colleague (with the back to the camera) who stole my present!!! EVIL! I must compliment the cameraman though, can catch that moment in his camera.
